Getting Around Makati City – St. Danny Giles Makati Hotel - A Truly Wide Repertoire of Choices

When visiting a foreign country, one of the first things you have to do is look for viable transport routes and means to and from the hotel you're staying at, particularly when you have to travel a few kilometers each day.

Getting around the city of Makati, one of Metropolitan Manila's most imposing and engaging locations, has proved to be much less of a challenge during my visit than I first expected, not only because of the extremely helpful and friendly staff, who were willing to provide me with quick and easy tips on how to get around, but also because of the advanced infrastructure of the city itself.

Although I haven't actually been on the MRT elevated train, I have seen it at Ayala Center station, and it was certainly a sight to behold. The train connects many of the major areas of the city, and tickets are only between 11 and 14 pesos.

Renting a car in Makati, on the other hand, has definitely proved to be an interesting, as well as memorable experience. Two main Metro Manila arteries connect the city with the neighboring towns of Mandaluyong and Pasay, as well as Manila's center to the north and the rest of Metro Manila to the south; so the great news is that you won't have much difficulty in traveling longer distances by car between the cities.

The smaller streets, however, proved to be a little harder to navigate, and I actually found that going by bus was a more rewarding experience in most cases – particularly when going to the Central Business District on a regular basis.

Finally, the river ferry rides in Makati are definitely a topic worth mentioning. The two main stations near City Hall and the Guadalupe Bridge are both quite close to the Danny Giles makati hotel review, where I stayed, and the ferry was definitely one of the most pleasant ways to get to the Intramuros in Manila not only more easily, but in style.
